Chris Harper

As a six year old boy Chris was drawn to anything resembling the keys of a piano. Compelled to figure out basic chords and melodies under the polite guidance of an uncle, he started to play by ear before he could read or write.

Chris accompanied many vocal artists and choirs, such as Tobi Jooste, Charl Van Heyningen, the illustrious Jannie Moolman, and Patrizio Buanne on his first tour to Johannesburg in 2008 at Montecasino.

Chris found inspiration from a friend who convinced him to finally record his own piano album, bemoaning this long overdue event. In January 2012 Chris recorded “Elan” with much love and devotion. An active marketing campaign followed where Chris performed in public every week in shopping malls across Gauteng and Mpumalanga, promoting and selling his CD directly to a receptive and appreciative public. This growing fan base soon demanded more, and a second album “Wings” was released in December 2012.

Chris took a step forward with this album by introducing three of his own instrumental compositions: “Wings”, “The Tuscan” and “Easy Rider”. The response to these compositions exceeded all expectations.
